Founded by Pietro Riva in 1842 on Italy’s beautiful Lake D’Iseo, Riva remains perhaps the single most famous and desirable powerboat brand in the world. Having joined the Ferretti Group in May 2000 and opened a second production facility in Spezia in 2004, the last decade or so has proven extremely productive as regards the introduction of fresh models. Today, the range comprises 14 craft, with the two most recent additions proving beyond doubt that the yard is not simply about the preservation of an impeccable heritage. The 63 Virtus has become the company’s largest open boat and the 122 Mythos has taken its place as the fleet flagship and the first aluminium planing megayacht ever produced by this prestigious boatyard. Happily, however, the classically styled, helm-forward, gentleman’s express cruiser for which the company is so famous lives on in the form of the delectable Iseo and Aquariva models.
