Restored and improved in 2020-21, a thorough rehab on both boat and trailer. Fairly priced when you consider that the devil (and value) is in the details: a careful review of the photos reveals the value. In the photos, where labeled “New” means new in 2020/21.
The welded hull was made by Westcoaster in 1987, but everything else is much newer. Yamaha 50Hp with under 200 hours (8-2017 mfg. date): it has been well cared for, rinsed with fresh water after any use in the salt. Impeller replaced ahead of the 2021 season, and the oil has been changed at least annually.
Truly turn-key. The boat has been through sea trials, including but not limited to, a recent circumnavigation of Santa Cruz Island. I’d work, and re-work things as needed to get everything just right. I put in over 300 hours into refurbishing this boat. I’m a skilled mechanic with a shop, and the aluminum customizing was sub-out to pros. And, my hard costs into it are over $30,000. I’ll never get back what I’ve put in; but that’s okay, I’m retired and this has been a great learning experience on my first power boat.
I live in Oregon. Moreover, I found out the hard way that I need a bigger and heavier boat for the much rougher ocean off our coast. My good friend Eric lives in Ventura County, and I left the boat with him to sell, after our Channel Islands adventure last fall. Bayrunners are well matched to the coastal waters of Southern California and Baja, and SoCal is a bigger market. So that is where it’s being marketed.
Features and New: Center Console with Aluminum Top and new Cloth Cover. REFURBISHED IN 2020-21 with the following new parts and accessories: all wiring, wood-seats-flooring-ribs, foam flotation, steering wheel and cable, Hummingbird Helix 10 chartplotter/fish finder, 3-hatch-cover-storage compartments, kicker motor mount, 21 gallon built-in-bow-gas-tank (weight balances the boat and opens up storage in the stern), roof, and all the all-weather-zip-and-snap-cabin-cover. The cover keeps the boat dry for storage, and the boat glass provides the option to leave the cabin glassed portion on while running.
SETUP for FISHING: 6 Rocket Launchers, Two FishFighter-Sliding-Rails 3’, Scotty Rod Holders, Scotty Manual Downriggers, Bait Tank, Fish Box (120 Qt. Igloo Cooler). Ready for a Trolling motor (not included) (included: bow mount, conduits, battery box). If you buy the higher end Minnkotas they interface with the chartplotter.
Trailer Refurbished in 2020: Rewired, new LED Taillights, 2" Ball, new Bow Roller & Jack Stand, new tires, bearings repacked, new side carriages. Bunks reset. Side carriage and bunks sit just right. You can float the boat on to the trailer if you wish. New jack stand with 6” wheel helps trailer maneuverability when you're rolling it by hand.
The boat is currently located in Somis, California. I live in Oregon. My friend Eric, who lives in Somis, CA, is showing the boat. We recently circumnavigated Santa Cruz Island with this boat and on the west-end it handled Force 5 winds and six-foot waves just fine. You can call me for more information, email me, and/or go to the website I made for this boat: bayrunner16 (just add .com). For the security of all parties, California AAA handle the closing and title. I look forward to hearing from you. Mark
