Very hard to find, nice 1988 Catalina 30 with many recent upgrades and recent maintenance. T-shaped cockpit, fin keel, bimini, air conditioning, recent bottom paint and much more.
Single owner, excellent condition, sought after cruising class vessel! With 13’ beam and 6’6” headroom in beautifully appointed, wood paneled salon, she looks and feels like a boat much larger than her 36’6” LOA! Despite her beam aft, she sails beautifully, points well, even with working jib only, in high wind. Roller furling mainsail (2018) with power winches, with roller reefing 110% jib (2018), make heading out and putting to bed easier and quicker than any in her class. Sheets, traveller lines, vang lines all replaced in 2021. Collapsable wheel within the cockpit, long enough seats for reclining, wide weather decks, tall life lines and inboard shrouds, all making for ease of movement above deck. Raymarine instruments on Edson pedestal, including compass driven autopilot, and auto-tacking helm, depth, knot meter and anemometer, make solo sailing a breeze, despite her 14,000 lb displacement. A wing keel cuts her draft to only 4’6” and she slides into and out of a sandy bottom with ease. When she’s not powered by her 720 sq ft of sail, her engine is a water cooled Westerbeke M-35, 4 cylinder, 81.47 cu in. with fuel consumption 1.2 gal/hour. Fuel tank capacity 39 gal. She has a brand new prop, shaft and fittings, (2022) as well as new engine hoses. She has a single lever engine control with button neutral, forward and reverse on the starboard side of the pedestal. New water pump (2018) and a total fresh water tankage of 88.5 gallons, in fore, aft and mid tanks. Inside she’s appointed with a queen size berth aft with privacy door; large V-berth for two in the bow, with ensuite bath including full standing shower, door to V-berth and main salon. Couches in main salon of off white, ultra-leather surrounded by a varnished teak interior. Starboard has a game table built into mid-couch, collapsable, and the mid salon table has two tops, one large for 4-6 eating and one small for two. This boat has TV, stereo, Bose speakers in and out, analog antennae atop the mast, as well as Apple TV with dockside Wifi. Sirius radio outfitted. AC/Heat and cabin fans keep salon comfortable even when cooking on gimbaled propane stove/oven. Microwave, fridge, and freezer complete the kitchen area.
"Salsa Caliente" is a 1987 Catalina 36. She has had many recent upgrades and update in the last few years. This vessel does have some possible delamination on the side decks and a poorly done deck repair.
