Mariso (Mare-ih-so) is a better-than-new trailerable trawler, remarkable for her modern systems. She is the only TT35 sporting a flybridge, dual helm stations, custom trailer, and a huge house bank with solar panels.
Upon purchasing this new boat in June 2018, we had American Boatworks in Tarpon Springs, FL undertake improvements to the vessel, which included upgrades to make the boat a more comfortable liveaboard and ABYC compliant. As experienced boaters, safety, comfort and efficiency were our goals, and the folks at American Boatworks exceeded our expectations.
We did our shakedown cruise in preparation for the Loop in 2019, first trailering Mariso to Knoxville, TN, and then cruising her down the Tenn-Tom back to Florida. We were planning to do the Great Loop in 2020, but then the pandemic hit.
Mariso has been in covered storage on her trailer ever since, except for a brief hiatus spent in the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina in 2021. Her Suzuki outboards have only 160 hours. With our life situation now requiring us to care for an elderly parent, we must sadly part with this beautiful boat.
The flybridge is an invaluable addition to this boat, and was carefully constructed to keep her under the height limit for towing. On the trailer, her clearance is 13' 4". In the water, her Bridge Clearance is 10'4".
The hull length is 35 ft. Her LOA is 41 ft (the Boat Trader form won't let me differentiate between Nomimal Length & LOA below). Top speed is 19 mph (expressed as 16 knots below).
In addition, the Glendinning controls and Garmin Autopilot make cruising effortless, whether you plan to head to the Bahamas or do the Loop. The Cruise R/O watermaker, solar panels and six Firefly batteries will enable you to be self-sufficient for as long as you like.
Mariso on her trailer can be seen at the storage facility in Summerfield, Florida, just south of Ocala and north of Orlando. We run the outboards twice monthly.
Also available is our diesel 2008 Ford F-350 dually truck, which pulls Mariso on her custom trailer (electric-over-hydraulic brake system, four axles with 14-inch tires) with ease. This F-350 only has 80,500 miles and we have maintained both Mariso and the F-350 truck with an open checkbook.
