The Barkas is built with the solidity of yesteryear: a riveted steel hull, classic lines, and a robust Jastram air-started engine, installed in the 1950s, which further emphasizes the authentic character of this ship. Despite her classic drive system and appearance, this Barkas is equipped with contemporary amenities. She is equipped with a bow thruster, central heating, an electric toilet, shower facilities, a generator with a separate 100-liter diesel tank (in addition to the 360-liter main tank), and more. The wheelhouse, with midship steering position and guest seating, offers an excellent view all around and is accessible via both side entrances. From the wheelhouse, there is access to the forward cabin, furnished as a sleeping area with bunk beds, as well as to the further interior. The interior is simply but warmly decorated with teak paneling.
