Hatteras 42 LRC

The Hatteras 42 LRC was designed and introduced to compete with Asian semi-displacement trawlers that dominated the U.S. Market.   J. Hargrave's full displacement hull design has a more rounded forefoot that gradually tapers back to a shallow V at the transom. This created  an easier and more comfortable cruise than her hard chine competition. Her twin GM diesels only burn 6 GPH at 8 KTS giving over a 1,000  mile range. Reducing speed to an economical 7 KTS increases total range 1700 miles.   This flush deck (single level walkaround) trawler is great for line handling with large fore and aft decks with teak capped safety rails. The bridge has centerline helm with 360* visibility, matching pedestal style companion and navigation seats. She also has full bench seat aft with storage base. The Great Loopers always want to know; "Is the mast hinged for fitting under bridges?" Yes, the mast is hinged and there are no teak decks to take care of either.   Lower helm in forward salon to starboard has great visibility with large front and side windows. Excellent deck access with sliding doors on both sides of the salon. Salon love seat style sofa to starboard aft and an in line full complement galley to port.  Includes 3 burner stove with oven, 2 refrigerators, solid surface countertops, stainless sink.  Salon also has overhead grab rails for safety in heavy weather. Both fore and aft staterooms are loaded with storage and both staterooms have a head with separate stall showers.    The M/V Mar Azul is a good example of Hatteras' Long Range Cruiser. She would also be a great Live-aboard (abundant storage) or a relaxing weekend on the hook.  She is clean and uncluttered. She has been kept in fresh water for the last 15 years and in a covered slip for the last 12 years. New bottom job 5/21.
