Grayling is a 47 ft steel raised pilot house trawler. She was designed as a honest cruising boat to be operated by a couple under almost any condition. She is fully live aboard and equally able at sea or at anchor. Her short mast is on a tabernacle and can clear less than 15 feet making it the perfect looper.
47' Trawler Vessel Walkthrough
As you approach the vessel, you can enter from either side of the pilot house or the aft deck. As you enter the pilot house from the starboard, you find your ac/dc panel and full helm forward and a benchseat/berth with storage aft. Starboard aft are the stairs leading to the salon. As you descend the stairs you find the galley to port and an ice box style refrigerator to starboard. The galley comes with a pantry cabinet for additional storage. As you walk aft, there is a dinette and day bed to starboard and an L-shaped sofa (Converts to a double size berth) with storage to port and double wood & glass doors and screen doors aft. Forward in the salon is the companionway that leads down a couple of steps to the head to port (with enclosed shower), the master stateroom forward and the workshop/laundry room to starboard as well as the access to the engine room. The workshop and engine room are stocked with spare parts and tools. The engine room is spacious and clean making it easy for those morning checks and maintenance.
Exiting the pilot house, there is a side deck to the foredeck or aft to the flybridge that holds a dinghy and dinghy mast/boom davit and deck storage.
47' Trawler Accommodations
Grayling offers a master stateroom forward with two single berths. There is a single berth starboard aft in the salon, a sofa that converts to a double size berth to port in the salon and the benchseat in the pilothouse serves as a berth also. The head with enclosed shower is to starboard, across from the utility room.

The salon offers L-shaped seating to port that converts to a double size berth and offers storage, storage cabinet port aft, dinette to starboard, berth starboard aft, opening side windows with blinds, double glass & wood doors and screen doors aft, portlights aft, carpet and reading lights.

The galley is located port forward in the salon.

47' Trawler Engine/Mechanical Equipment
Grayling is powered by a single Cummins 4BT 3.9 150hp turbo charged with fuel consumption of 2.2 GPH at 8 kts. Her hull is very efficient with a performace of better than 4 miles per gallon. Her 680 gal fuel tanks provide a range of 2800 miles-handy for selective fuel stops. Hydraulic steering by Hynautics, a large rudder and a Vetus electric bow thruster make close manuvering easy without the expense of twin engines.
47' Trawler Construction
Her hull construction is 1/4" steel below waterline, 3/16" above, longitudinally framed with transverse frames every 31". The pilot house is steel below window line and fiberglassed wood above. The main cabin is steel with a fiberglass ceiling.
