TIDAL WAVE is one of Phillip Rhodes early success stories. She was built by the Minneford Yacht Yard in 1930 as a cruiser racer. She was extremely successful racing in the early 30s and there are many articles about her in the yachting press of that era.
In 2000/2001 Tidal Wave underwent a substantial rebuild that included new frames and floor timbers, new plank keel, planking, stems, fastenings, deck, diesel engine, and other improvements. This work was completed at Rockport Marine to extremely high standards, all while not disturbing the original interior. Photo's of the rebuild are available.

Other than seasonal cosmetics it is our opinion Tidal Wave is in excellent condition and ready to go another 86 years.
From the owner:
“Tidal Wave has been an absolute joy, and she turns heads in every harbor. We have been proud to be part of her 86 year old history, and hope to find a new owner that feels the same. It’s versatile sail plan allows for a fun day of racing, or a leisurely family sail with young kids in all conditions. We are only selling Tidal Wave because our family has grown to 14 grandchildren, and it is time for a larger boat.”
