Additional Information

Very well kept Aloa 45 Center Cockpit Ketch, owned by the seller for 30 years. Refit 2010 with completely re-rigging including new bottle screws and turnbuckles (Staylock); the fuel tank was cleaned and fitted with three inspection hatches. New fuel & water gauges were fitted and all ports and hatches (Goiot) were re-glazed and a Sliepner Sidepower Bowthruster (8hp) was installed. The last eight years sailed in the Baltic where she spent 7 months each year inside a boat storage hall.
A very strong and powerful boat. Her ketch rig with both a reefing main and mizzen together with a staysail means she can be comfortably sailed in almost all conditions. Her heavy displacement and large tanks enable her to travel long distances in complete comfort.

Owners comment:

"This Aloa 45 is a comfortable yacht, built in France in 1978 and is in excellent condition. She is fully equipped and has been maintained by the same owner for over thirty years. Of all the Aloa 45’s built, only six, like our´s, were designed as an ‘owners version’. We have met two others in the Mediterranean and a third was available for sale last year in Venezuela.

This is an example of high-quality yacht, always carefully maintained, wintered ashore in a boat hall and constantly upgraded with an eye to detail. She was designed for safe, short-handed sailing, with clean deck lines and a comfortable center-cockpit. She is also equipped with 4.236 Perkins engine and a Sleipner Bow Thruster.

The accommodation in three cabins (plus an engine room/workshop), is ideal for long distance live aboard cruising, with plenty of room for friends and family. The aft master cabin has a large double berth, ample storage space and an en-suite heads with toilet, shower, hip bath and hand basin. With a second shower and toilet forward and a large saloon, she will accommodate six in two double berths and two single berths.

We have sailed her for 16 years around the Mediterranean, 5 years in the Atlantic and for the last 10 years around all the countries in the Baltic. We currently sail for five months each year and she spends the winter inside a boat hall in Germany. Like many classic models, she has a very nicely finished and comfortable interior with lots of varnished wood.

She is well equipped, including electronics, central heating, fridge, freezer, washing machine and electric anchor windlass with deck wash. She is solid, sea-kindly and handles well in rough seas.

We are currently looking for a similar sized motor yacht."
