The Arcona 435 illustrates the evolution of design and innovation for Arcona Yachts. She is a boat that will win regattas one weekend and then take the family for a comfortable and safe sail the next. The Arcona 435 continues to uphold Arcona’s strong heritage of innovation and design excellence, using high quality materials and best workmanship. The Arcona 435 is a fast, modern and easy-to-manage 43 foot performance cruiser. Launched by Arcona Yachts in 2018 and winner of the European Yacht of the Year 2019, she quickly became a favourite in the performance racer-cruiser sector. The Arcona 435 epitomises the characteristics of a very comfortable fast family cruiser and a racing yacht, without making any compromises. She is both safe and stable with laminated bulkheads and Arcona’s galvanised steel girder. She is a joy to sail as she responds quickly to trim input and doesn’t weigh more than 8900kg. A stand out boat in so many ways, the Contest 52MC Fastlane is a spectacularly successful design – especially so as she is Contest Yachts’ first ever motor boat in this league. The press can’t get enough of her, loving her looks and her handling which they say astounds, her innovative, half-planing hull riding as though on rails, tracking straight and staying flat right through the tightest of turns. With power options from twin 350hp to 550hp diesels she’s equally comfortable at 8 or 28 knots, and soft rides through the nastiest chop. And she’s a dry boat, her pronounced spray rails cascading the breaking water away.  The joint creation of longstanding design partner Georg Nissen, the well known boat engineering and designer company Vripack and the yard’s own in-house design team, the 52MC is also an unusually versatile performance platform, available in Flybridge and Open Sport eas well as Fastlane f versions. Interior layouts are customisable, too, building out of a raised saloon and two heads, three sleeping cabin standard plan.

In the Contest 49CS, our first twin aft-cabin yacht at this length, we have developed something new, different and yet reassuringly consistent with Contest credentials. A natural step up from the Contest 42CS, and equal new step into the Contest range for sailors preferring their master suite forward and family or guest cabins in the back.And what cabins these are, they’re huge for the 50ft (15.5m) sector. Yet still there’s a very impressive tender garage, spacious aft deck, and loads of storage throughout the cabins which enjoy the latest design-styling from the Wetzels Brown studio. It’s with naval architects judel/vrolijk & co’s balancing of modern topside height and max beam carried well aft, that this conventionally impossible scale of twin aft cabin arrangement with standing headroom throughout has been achieved. And with super performance, too, through the full spectrum of heavy and light weather. Dependable in handling and easy to control, sailing nine knots to windward at 30° apparent. And as with all Contest yachts, remarkably quiet below decks under sail and motor.

At 26 metres, the Contest 85CS with Lloyd’s Register certified hull, and accommodation for up to ten with the option of expansive dedicated crew quarters, is a yacht set to take the world in its stride. Very capably, very comfortably, very securely.
