Modern design and modular layouts

The Vaan R5 comes in two versions: the Standard version, with an open cockpit to the sea, and the Live-Aboard version (R5-LA), which features a large sliding glass door shifted to the rear. The latter transforms part of the cockpit into a spacious 30 m² indoor lounge, offering a bright living space that can be adapted to the weather.

At the front, a versatile area allows for either a dining corner for two or a large relaxation zone, ideal for long cruises.

Sustainable construction in recycled aluminum

In line with Vaan Yachts' environmental commitment, the R5 is built from recycled aluminum, sourced from old windows, road signs, and other repurposed materials. This circular approach ensures a reduced carbon footprint while guaranteeing strength and longevity. The deck is covered with certified FSC natural cork, an eco-friendly alternative to traditional teak.

Electric propulsion and silent navigation

The R5 catamaran is equipped with two saildrive electric motors. These motors ensure silent navigation, with no direct emissions, and can also function as generators to recharge batteries at sea. The range is customizable thanks to a modular system of batteries and solar panels, with an optional backup generator for long crossings.

Sailing performance and maneuverability

With a mainsail of 80 m², a self-tacking jib of 45 m², and optional foresails (Code 0 and gennaker up to 170 m²), the Vaan R5 offers excellent sailing performance. Its shallow draft (1.2 m or 1.2/2 m with keels) allows it to explore shallow anchorages safely.
