MERAKI is a 2022 43' Neel trimaran built exclusively for the 2022 Miami boat show. We purchased her there and have been her sole owners. Our primary reasons for buying a trimaran were the speed and safety that they provide. Since owning her, we spent countless hours and $120,000 meticulously upgrading her to be suitable to our nomadic off the grid lifestyle. Many people will tell you that their boat is "off the grid capable”. MERAKI is truly that. We have no generator as we rely solely on the sun which provides for all of our needs. Our batteries are usually back up to 100% by 1pm. We only need fuel to go in and out of marinas and anchorages. And yes, we have DC air-conditioning every night if we want it. That means whisper quiet sleep without a noisy diesel generator sucking precious fuel. We spent a year and a half aboard in the Caribbean. We mostly stayed in remote isolated anchorages away from crowds. And did I say she is fast. She excels in light wind. In fact, we can normally sail 3 knots below True wind speed. We love those light 10 knot days when we’re comfortably doing 6 to 7 knots. When the wind really pick up you can see double digits. We have numerous custom upgrades throughout the boat for storage. This setup is perfect for that live aboard, off the grid lifestyle or the weekend warrior who wants comfort without sacrificing speed.
