Interior

Through the extended wheelhouse, you have a beautiful view of the surroundings. There is a comfortable sofa for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning. You descend to the renovated cabin via the stairs.

Through another staircase, you enter the old cargo hold. Here you will find a spacious open kitchen, an elevated living area with a generous bathroom, and a large bedroom. There is plenty of storage space under the stairs, and behind the kitchen, there is a study. There is also a passage to the spacious engine room.

Technology

The ship is propelled by a 324 hp Cummins marine diesel, cooled by a Blokland flat cooler. In the well-laid-out engine room, there is also a Mitsubishi S4S generator of 30 kVA. Bow thruster at the front of the ship with a thrust of 325 kgf. The Virunga has battery chargers and inverters from Mastervolt for the ship's electrical system. Recently, a new diesel central heating boiler and electric central heating boiler from Baxi have been installed.

The ship was converted in 2001 according to the highest standards with foam insulation, double glazing, and hardwood finishes.

Navigation Area

Since the Virunga has been shortened to <30 meters and has the width of a barge, a spacious navigation area has been created in the European waterways. The wheelhouse can also be folded down to create a clearance height of approximately 3.3 meters. This makes the ship ideal for exploring the European waterways.
