Design and Structure

 "Francine is essentially a luxurious, houseboat-style residence designed to offer the comforts of a traditional home while floating on water. Here are some key features:

Design and Structure

• Francine is built on a buoyant platform, made from steel for stability. She has been completely stripped down and repaired with 3/16 steel plates as per her original design. 

• She was then coated with PPG brand 2-part marine primer and painted with high quality enamel.

• All surfaces were coated with red oxide rust preventative. 

• Bottom paint is a two-part PPG brand and was applied in fall of 2021.

• New walls and ceilings and insulated with R13 bat type insulation. 

• New wood flooring throughout.

• All windows are new Pella brand double-hung units with low "E" value.

• All wood framing was done in western red cedar, to which a layer of 3/8" OSB board was attached followed by 1/4" plywood fascia. Sub floor is 3/4" T&G glued and screwed. All fasteners wood to steel are of stainless steel.

•  All new electrical elements. They were replaced including load center, outlets, switches and lights. (Including all the wiring.) 

•  All ceiling lights are new. LED type and on dimmer switches. 

• Amana "PTAC" unit was installed new in 2020.

• New custom-built wooden settee.

• New Cabinets and Countertops throughout.

• Below deck are 4?40-gallon water tanks with a 20-gallon water heater. 

• Water pressure is maintained by a 12-volt pump with a ballast tank.

 In summation, all materials in the boat have been replaced within the last few years. She has been restored to last.
