With an overall length of 62 feet, this vessel boasts a robust steel hull shaped for displacement, ensuring stability and durability on the water. Powered by twin John Deere Luggers, each delivering 90 hp, the boat features a V-drive configuration, providing reliable diesel performance. With a cruising speed of 8 knots and a maximum hull speed of 10 knots, it promises an enjoyable and efficient journey, complemented by an impressive range of 1,000 miles. Accommodating up to five cabins and two heads, "Sacajawea" offers ample space for relaxation and comfort. This well-maintained vessel is perfect for those seeking adventure on the open seas, blending timeless elegance with practical features for an unforgettable experience.
The Sacajawea was originally purchased in 1977 for use as a charter boat taking trips into the San Juan Islands and the Canadian Gulf Islands during the summer months.
She became Coast Guard Certified in the Spring of 1978 and was certified for 32 people. Staterooms were added to accomodate up to 8 passengers and she began doing 6/7 day trips into the San Juans and then 10 / day daytrips into the Canadian Gulf Islands- traveling as far north as Desolation Sound and the Campbell River area.
She cruised these waters for just over 25 years taking countless passengers into these special waters and ports of call. During the off season, the Sacajawea was used for group cruises in and around the waters of the Puget Sound, Lake Union and Lake Washington. Birthdays, Weddings, Husky Tailgating, Christmas Cruises, Seafair, Business Cruises, Salmon Derbies, and any number of other group cruises was large part of the makeup of the Sacajawea.
