For sale: Ketch Stoere 2-master with world-class sailing properties – a classic with character and course stability.

For those looking for more than just a boat, but a true companion for great journeys and small moments – this is your chance. This robust two-master is built with safety, reliability, and sailing pleasure in mind. No unnecessary gadgets, just pure seaworthy craftsmanship. And you can feel it in every detail.

Made to take on the world

This ship is not a dreamer – it is a doer. A long-keeler through and through, with a beautifully shaped underwater hull line and a sturdy keel that makes the ship exceptionally course stable. Feel free to let go of the helm on a broad reach: this lady knows her way.

Built to withstand the elements and designed for longer voyages, this ship is an ideal candidate for those dreaming of a circumnavigation of the Atlantic Ocean or even a world trip. The hull exudes strength, the construction feels like a bunker, and under all circumstances, this ship inspires confidence.

Navigation? You decide!

There are no outdated navigation devices on board – and that is often a plus. So you are not paying for outdated or mediocre equipment. You choose which brands and systems you install, tailored to your style of sailing. Raymarine, B&G, Garmin? You decide.

B&G chart plotter present

  • 7-inch clear touchscreen: Intuitive operation with multi-touch functionality, even with wet hands.
  • Specific sailing functions: Including SailSteer™, LayLines, and SailingTime for optimal performance.
  • User-friendly interface: Easily add waypoints and plan routes with familiar gestures.
  • Full integration: Compatible with NMEA 2000® for connecting sensors, autopilots, and more.
  • ForwardScan™ compatible: See what lies beneath the water for safe navigation in unknown waters.
  • Built-in WiFi: Access to online services such as weather forecasts and screen mirroring to smartphones or tablets.

Cozy and warm interior

Inside, it is warm, cozy, and classic. Think of an interior made of beautifully finished solid wood, crafted with love and perfectly matching the robust appearance of the ship.

The salon invites long evenings, the galley is functional and atmospheric, and in the cabins, you feel right at home. This boat is not only seaworthy – it is also truly livable.

Powerful engine for safety

The strong, reliable engine is one of the silent heroes on board. It provides you with certainty in harbors, locks, narrow passages, or in calm winds on open water. Safety under all circumstances is not a luxury here, but standard.

Beautiful teak deck

On top of all that, there is a truly stunning teak deck that emphasizes the classic lines of the boat. It is not only beautiful to look at, but also practical, non-slip, and solid underfoot. Every step on deck feels good.

In summary:

  • Long-keeler with course-stable sailing properties
  • Ideal starter boat for long journeys or circumnavigation
  • Without modern navigation – you choose your equipment
  • Warm, cozy wooden paneling inside
  • Strong engine provides certainty in all conditions
  • Beautiful teak deck, well maintained
  • Solid, reliable construction – seaworthy and charming

Disclamer

Title: “Noorderlicht”

Jan was 52 when he finally made the decision. For years he had dreamed of a real expedition: a journey to the north, to deserted fjords, drifting ice floes, and quiet waters where time seemed to stand still. He sold his house, quit his job, and bought a heavily built catch-rigged two-masted vessel: a classic sailing yacht with a robust hull and a story.

The ship was named Noorderlicht, and seemed built for rough work. The hull was thick and sturdy, fully insulated against polar cold, with double glazing and a wood stove that kept the inside always cozy. Jan further modified the ship with solar panels, a water maker, and a reinforced rudder. Not a luxury yacht, but a reliable partner for solitude and cold.

In May, he departed from the Netherlands, heading north. Out of the Wadden Sea, along the rugged Norwegian coast, and then crossing over to Iceland. There he stayed briefly in Ísafjörður, a small fishing village nestled among the mountains, where he stocked up on provisions and checked the ship.

At the end of June, he crossed over to Greenland. For days there was no sign of life except for the growl of the wind, the cries of seagulls, and the cracking of the ice. The Noorderlicht held up bravely. Thanks to the insulation, Jan felt no cold — inside it was warm, dry, and quiet. Outside was a different world: glaciers, silence, and occasionally the puffing of a whale in the distance.

In a deserted bay, he anchored alone for days, under a sky full of stars and northern lights. He wrote, he looked, he lived.

He was not looking for anything — but found everything.
