Description
1979 Burger 86' Raised Pilothouse
Freedom is a handsome, classic Burger Yacht that incorporates a lot of the most popular features of this builder. She is built with four watertight bulkheads, a double bottom and full keel protecting her props. She offers excellent range and fuel economy at displacement speeds and 20 knots in moderate seas at full power. Every upgrade that has been made has been in keeping with the original lines and concept of the boat. The rich Burger trademark quality and grace is very evident throughout. Always well-maintained, Freedom has received many upgrades and improvements over the years. She shows and operates like a much newer yacht.
Beautifully updated and upgraded by her current owner, Freedom has new marble countertops throughout, textured wallcoverings, new flooring and so much more that now incorporates a Carolina Chic while still maintaining the class of the classic Burger style.
Note, the top of the flybridge windshield measures 17'08" from the waterline meaning she is Great Loop capable.
Vessel Walkthrough and Details
Layout:
Raised pilothouse layout with full beam main salon. Entrance from port and starboard doors, aft deck or either side of the pilothouse. Great full beam main salon with a wet bar area forward. On deck powder room forward of the main salon. Proceeding forward on the main deck is the galley, a formal dining room, and stairs to the crew quarters and the air-conditioned engine room. Two staterooms in the crew quarters.
A comfortable, curved stairway from the main salon leads to the three staterooms aft for the owner and guests, each with a private head and shower. Full beam master is all the way aft with king bed.
Great flybridge layout with covered seating for a crowd under the new Bimini top and open seating further aft. Space for tender and jet skis with powered davit as well.
Complete update and decorating 2019/2020 (and continuously since) inside and out. Beach cottage flair with a Carolina Chic yet keeping the Burger taste and ambiance, Freedom is beautiful.
