Description
GLOBAL began her life in 1982 as a commercial workboat, before being transformed by Shadow Marine in 2007 into one of the world’s first true support vessels. The result is a 65-metre expedition mothership of remarkable capability, conceived to carry more, travel further, and unlock experiences no conventional yacht can match. A certified helipad, climate-controlled hangar, and heavy-duty deck equipment make her a versatile utility platform, able to support helicopters, submarines, and large events with ease. At the same time, six cabins with private balconies, together with lounges, a multifunction cinema/briefing room and gym, ensure comfort and capability are offered in equal measure.
A fully certified touch-and-go helipad crowns the sky deck, supported by fold-down railings, safety tie-downs, and integrated fire suppression systems. When not in aviation use, it transforms into an expansive open-air lounge or event space. Aft, a 35-tonne telescopic crane and hydraulic davits make easy work of deploying tenders, submarines, and heavy exploration gear. Her immense climate-controlled hangar is unique among yachts in her class and serves as an adaptable space for helicopter storage, large-scale events, or watersports staging.
Inside, GLOBAL combines expedition utility with elegant design. Her interiors showcase Obeche veneer in a rich “Koffee Fineline” finish, accented with solid mahogany trim. Signature elongated oval windows frame ocean views and invite in an abundance of natural light. The sky lounge on the helideck serves as the main social space on board, with panoramic views, circular sofas, a bar, and a formal dining area. Elsewhere, guests can enjoy a dedicated cinema and meeting room with a 65-inch screen, a gym, and a separate game room. A commercial galley and extensive storage ensure both long voyages and large-scale entertaining are fully supported, while an elevator connects the main deck and helideck.
GLOBAL accommodates 12 guests in six staterooms, all located on the upper deck. This dedicated accommodation level is completely separate from the yacht’s social areas, ensuring the utmost privacy for every guest. Five queensize cabins and one twin/bunk cabin each feature en suite bathrooms, private balconies, and a study desk with stunning views. Each room also offers ample storage space, allowing guests to settle in comfortably for longer voyages. This thoughtful layout ensures every guest enjoys their own secluded retreat with direct access to a private outdoor space.
GLOBAL is engineered for endurance and reliability, powered by twin Caterpillar D399 engines delivering an extraordinary range of over 10,000 nautical miles. Stabilisers ensure comfort on long passages, while three new Caterpillar Tier 3 generators provide efficient power. Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, with recent paint and engine room updates, she is certified for fire and explosion safety. GLOBAL also carries two U-Boat Worx submersibles, making her uniquely equipped for underwater exploration. The Super Yacht Sub 3 is a compact three-person craft capable of diving to 300 metres with up to 12 hours of endurance. Complementing it is a brand-new Cruise Sub 7, with a groundbreaking “doublebubble” design and a revolving interior, expanding her ability to explore reefs and wrecks.
