Description
Kaia is a Tartan 37 sloop, designed by Sparkman & Stephens, a classic cruising yacht known for its solid construction, attractive proportions, and good performance, offering a balanced and pleasant sailing experience.
The Tartan 37 is considered one of today's classic cruising yachts. Introduced in 1976. initially conceived as a boat that could be sold as a racer as well as a cruiser, it was the shoal draft centerboard cruiser that took off.
By any standard of performance comparisons, the Tartan 37, for a boat of this class was anything but disappointing. She is quite stable with excellent windward and downwind sailing performance.
The boat became very popular for both club racing as well as coastal cruising, with many ending up in Florida and the Bahamas. Fast and comfortable 24 hour runs were enjoyed by many owners.
