Description
Canadian Cabin Sloop, electrically powered. 6 persons
The Reidroas was built in the 1980s by Mr. van der Eem in Easterein in Friesland.
The cockpit accommodates 6 people, the cabin provides space for luggage but is somewhat limited in size.
Hull, frames, and all painted parts are Mahogany, keel beam is oak, decks are teak.
In 2021, the following work was carried out:
All painted parts were stripped and provided with 6 layers; 2 layers of 2-component yacht varnish, 3 layers of 1-component yacht varnish, and 1 layer of topcoat.
The underwater hull was impregnated with injection resin, then provided with 2 layers of fiberglass mats and 3 layers of epoxy. After that, it was treated with antifouling.
The diesel engine and tank were removed and replaced with a 4 kW Water World electric drive equipped with a 240 kWh battery pack at 48 volts.
The ship is equipped with a cockpit tent plus a cover. The accompanying trailer is fitted with 4 new tires.
The total costs of the conversion and refurbishment are available for inspection.
