Description
Good timing on this one. $70K recently invested in the highest quality systems installations. Our local Viking Marine has recently completed major work below decks upgrading the entire electrical system, installing a Victron Inverter, Victron Isolation transformer, full Victron battery management, new ELCI, GARMIN navigation package with autopilot, a brand new Hurricane hydronic heater, a high output Balmar alternator with 618 smart controller and more. The engines have been completely gone through and are running perfectly with newer hoses, air filter, valve covers, and recent maintenance.
The owner funded these upgrades only to realize that his love affair with sailboats isn't quite over. He wants to go back. An expensive back-step for him, but an amazing opportunity for the next owner. Seller is motivated to help Valkyrie find her next skipper.
The renowned naval architct, Ed Monk, combined his efforts with the reputable shipwrights of Ocean Alexander Yachts to create this seaworthy, comfortable, and attractive 38 foot double cabin trawler. With a stout layup, shallow draft, and iconic teak interior, this boat offers twin engine maneuverability, economical cruising, and all the comforts of home while underway. All in a very manageable 38' size.
And this particular boat is hitting the market bringing a lot of preferred traits.
The owner himself picked her out of a lineup of other trawlers specifically for her more plumb bow and ability to take on a seaway. She is comfortable through building seas and a confidence booster as winds pick up.
Systems and mechanicals are in excellent condition. Below the main salon sole, you will find everything clean, spacious, labeled, and in working order. The clean up is done. No abandoned wires. No defunct components. The old spaghetti and outdated gear is all removed. She looks like a text book for ABYC students. She looks like the "after" photo.
No generator. No noise at anchor. No third aging diesel to worry about. The comforts of home come courtesy of an upgraded house battery bank and 3000 watt top of the line Victron inverter with easy monitoring thanks to the Victron Cerbo and Touch 70. Power management doesn't come easier or more modern than this.
Another major upgrade was the induction stove top. As this owner has witnessed one too many propane accidents, this move was purely for peace of mind. No explosive liquids or vapors on this boat. No gas. No propane. No risk of explosion.
The interior space is in excellent condition and "just right" for simple, comfortable living. Perfect for a couple who entertain the occasional guests. No camping. No compromising. She makes a very comfortable home wherever you take her.
If you are looking for something in this size range: to voyage to Alaska for the summer, tour around the islands for a long week away, or even as a place to call home here in Puget Sound, this one deserves a good look. Please call or email to schedule a showing.
