The interior is accessed from either the port or starboard sliding glass teak doors. Upon entering the main salon you are greeted with the warmth and richness you would expect from a Kha Shing Spindrift, the beautiful teak runs throughout the interior offering the owner a rich and comfortable environment, the handcrafted woodwork is excellent and in great shape.  With her wraparound cabin windows and excellent 6’4” headroom, the salon is spacious and airy. This particular Spindrift offers the rare and highly sought after three stateroom version. Screened portholes and hatches offer fresh air without the bugs.

The main salon consists of a large built in L-Shaped port leather sofa with (HD foam 2020) with a nice coffee table in front while the starboard side has a smaller leather sofa and entertainment center. The pilothouse area to starboard is spacious, comfortable and offers excellent viewing and easy access to the outside for the captain.

Moving forward to port is the first of three staterooms, a double bunk stateroom with a large hanging locker.  This space is a very nice addition from the typical two cabin Spindrift and allows for great flexibility of storage and guests. 

Directly across is the guest head with vanity, electric toilet (2018) and stand alone shower.

Continuing forward is the main guest stateroom with a large double v-berth (cushions 2020), hanging locker and drawer space for storage. Teak shelving lines the starboard and port hull sides.

Moving aft and down from the main salon to starboard is the galley which offers the chef a full kitchen for preparing meals. The amount of counter space, storage, deep SS sinks, large Norcold standup refrigerator and an Atwood three burner stove/oven offers all the amenities of home.  With an additional on aft deck kitchen the cooking potential of the boat is a chef’s delight. 

All the way aft is the luxury master stateroom with a large queen walk around berth (mattress 2016), huge hanging lockers, numerous drawers, a vanity/desk and lots of natural light from four deck prisms.  A large master head w/electric toilet, stand up shower and custom teak shower door offers one all the comforts of home.

Powerboat Guide Report

Certainly one of the more popular Taiwan imports, the Kha Shing 40, better known as the Spindrift 40 Motor-yacht on the West coast and the Vista 40 or Southern Star 40 MY on the East coast. She's a competent semi-displacement sundeck trawler with a solid fiberglass hull, shallow keel and a modern profile. Over 120 of these have been sold into the US Market and most have been delivered with a 2 stateroom interior layout with galley and dinette down and a lower helm station in the salon. STELLAR SEAZEN is the desirable 3 Cabin Layout. The interior is light teak and the cabinetry and joiner-work are impressive. With her wraparound cabin windows and excellent headroom, the salon of the 40 Ka Shing  is quite open in spite of all the teak wood. Notable features include deck access pocket door beside the lower helm station, secure side decks, varnished teak handrails and a roomy master stateroom whose dimensions are quite impressive for a 40'er. Outside , the covered aft deck is fairly spacious with plenty of room to furnish to one's taste for additional outdoor living space . Economical and capable of slightly greater than trawler speeds most of the 40 Kha Shing were powered with economical twin 165 HP Volvo diesels.
