Description

NEW PRICE... $57,000!

Winsome was crafted by master builder Joe Reid at Mast & Mallet Boatworks in Shadyside, Maryland. The vessel is powered by a Yanmar 4LHDTE 170 hp. diesel with only 973 hours.

The Thomas Point 30 was designed to be good-looking, soft riding, comfortable, and seaworthy. These boats are perfect for day fishing trips, overnighting and extended cruising.

Designed by (Mike) Kaufman Design Inc. for Mast & Mallet Boatworks, they are based on a proven series of hull forms inspired by the New England lobster boat and the Chesapeake Bay Deadrise with some Carolina influence. The hull's deep entry forward provides a soft entry in rough water. The flare deflects spray. The hard chine resists rolling, while the shallow exit aft increases planing efficiency.

What a Thomas Point boat does best is handle rough water. To quote one rider, "She has the best ride I've experienced in a 30-foot boat."

Accommodations

The accommodations are very nice and beautifully finished. Two can sleep in the double extension berth to port and there is a single settee/berth, there is a fully enclosed head compartment with shower. The pilothouse contains the helm station and aft galley/up.

  • Adler Barbour refrigeration
  • Single sink with H/C pressure water
  • 6 gal. water heater
  • Microwave

Deck & Hull

The hulls are cold-molded to 1" thick, with two layers of cedar laid fore and aft and glued with Gougeon Bros. WEST Epoxy. Planks are glued between layers to 3/4" x 3" frames. The exterior of the hulls are saturated with epoxy and sheathed with two layers of 10 oz. fiberglass cloth for extra strength and resistance to abrasion. All interior surfaces are coated with an epoxy barrier coating for an especially clean, finished appearance, and all other exterior areas are sheathed in epoxy/fiberglass. This method of construction results in a very strong, lightweight hull while eliminating or reducing the maintenance problems normally associated with traditional wood construction.
