Engine Service- Sept. 2025

Perform annual/hourly maintenance on engine port & starboard main engines per CAT SEPB2555-45, including zinc replacement, aftercooler inspection and reseal, crankcase breather inspection, coolant inspection and test, oil and filter change, fuel filter replacement, air filter element cleaning/inspection, raw water pump impeller and cover seal replacement, hose and clamp inspection, belt inspection, battery voltage and cable inspection, exhaust riser and turbocharger inspection, obtaining downloads/current product status report, disposal of used fluids and filters, and test run at the dock

• INSPECT AFTERCOOLER DRAIN, INSPECT AND RESEAL AFTERCOOLERS INLET AND OUTLET PIPES .
• INSPECT CRANKCASE BREATHER.
• INSPECT AND TEST COOLANT AND CHECK LEVEL-CLEAN OVERFLOW BOTTLE
• CHANGE ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTERS
• REPLACE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY FUEL FILTERS
• CLEAN/INSPECT AIR FILTER ELEMENTS
• REPLACE RAW WATER PUMP IMPELLERS AND COVER SEAL
• OBTAIN DOWNLOADS / CURRENT PRODUCT STATUS REPORT

Grid coolers

• Starboard: Removed heat exchanger, raw water and fresh water pipes.
• Clean heat exchangers tubes, sand blast heat exchanger tubes and then paint and disassemble tubes.
• Cleaned port heat exchanger plates and installed new gaskets on plates. Cleaned stbd heat exchanger cover and rear housing.
• Cleaned and re-gasketed the starboard-side heat exchanger plates.
• Cleaned port and starboard heat exchanger hardware. Installed starboard heat exchanger studs and torqued to 45ft 1lns.
• Installed starboard heat exchanger housing. Cleaned all surfaces on engines for reassembly.
• Torqued starboard heat exchanger plates. Installed port heat exchanger housing and plates, then torqued to specification.
• Installed port thermostat housing.

Operation: Generator 

• CHANGE ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER
• REPLACE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY FUEL FILTERS
• REPLACE RAW WATER PUMP IMPELLER AND COVER
• SEALS/GASKET
• REMOVE HEAT EXCHANGER, CLEAN AND RE-SEAL

Generator Service

• CHECK BATTERY CONNECTIONS

• TEST RUN AT THE DOCK AND START/STOP THE UNIT TO INSURE ALL AIR HAS BEEN PURGED FROM THE FUEL SYSTEM
• PERFORM ANNUAL MAINTENANCE ON BOTH MARINE GEARS AS PART OF THE ANNUAL SERVICE.
• CHANGE OIL AND CLEAN SCREEN OR REPLACE FILTER

Transmission Service

• PERFORM ANNUAL MAINTENANCE ON BOTH MARINE GEARS AS
• PART OF THE ANNUAL SERVICE.
