Description
Fountain's race-proven 42' Lightning holds the current V-bottom world speed record at 143.946 mph, so you can imagine how the boat performs with stock horsepower. Staggered engines bring the props closer together and keep the center of gravity down along the keel, where it works best. Preferred power is twin 525 EFI Mercury's (80+ mph) although you can step all the way up to 1550 QC4V's and easily push the speedometer into triple digits.
This 42 Lightning is powered with a pair of Staggered 525 Mercury Racing engines coupled to Bravo XR drives.
The top ends of the motors were just done, and there is a compression test completed on Aug 5, 2024 with no additional hours put on the engines since. Photos of the engine hours from the computers are included in the gallery.
The interior is fresh with a custom carbon dash.
Triple axle trailer is included!
This boat was the show boat for TIRET Watches, and has a cool custom graphic. Note that the seller has indicated that there is some dock rash on the painted graphics that can be easily addressed.
There is a new companionway top lid and swim ladder hatch on order from Fountain.
