Description
“COPPER STAR” is a very popular Selene Long-Range Ocean Trawler. She has cruised with her past owners South from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Zihuatanejo then North to the great Northwest and further to Desolation Sound and through the Inland Passage as far north to Ruppert Sound. The Selene 53’ has been considered the most popular in the Selene line-up. She is easy to handle by a cruising couple and makes for an ideal live-aboard. She has excellent long-range capabilities and is a well-founded and appointed cruiser with many recent upgrades to ensure her next owner many happy hours cruising to new destinations. Complete operating manuals for all boat systems along with many spare parts to include filters, main engine starter, and water pump are included.
Accommodations
“COPPER STAR” is a three stateroom and two-head vessel. As you board the Selene 53’ there is a boarding gate on port, starboard and transom. Access to the salon is through a Dutch door that adds to the nautical flair of this cruiser. Entering the salon to port is an L-shape settee with folding hi-lo teak table. To starboard are two barrel chairs. The U-shape galley is forward of the salon and opposite of the galley are additional cabinets that supply plenty of additional storage.
Moving forward from the galley are stairs that lead to the dedicated raised pilothouse. The pilothouse has an L-shaped settee with a teak table which is on a raised platform providing guest with excellent views while underway. Behind the settee is a pilot-berth for those extend passages. There are Dutch door’s port and starboard that lead out to the side-decks and forward to the Portuguese Bridge.
To starboard and aft of the pilothouse are stairs that lead to the flybridge. To starboard forward in the pilothouse are stairs leading down to the accommodations. Aft from the base of the stairs is the master stateroom with ensuite head and access to the engine room. The VIP stateroom is forward, and a guest cabin/office sits between the VIP and Master with guest head and shower to starboard. Abundant rich teak furnishing, teak and holly cabin soles and bamboo blinds and to the warmth and inviting feeling of this area. The vessel was recently hauled out and the bottom paint was renewed along with most of the running gear being replaced or renewed.
