The history of Apreamare dates back to 1849, when Giovanni Aprea began handcrafting rowing and sailing boats used for fishing in Sorrento, basing his craft on the shape of the traditional “gozzo sorrentino.” The family tradition continued with Giovanni's son, Cataldo, first, and then with some of his children, particularly the eldest son, Giovanni.
It was during this period, in the years following World War II, that the first major change was introduced with the installation of automobile engines in the boats.
The shipyard began producing the first “gozzi” used as recreational boats, a sector that immediately became the most important, surpassing professional fishing boats.

The incorporation of Cataldo Aprea into the family shipyard in 1973 marked an important turning point in the operation of the company and in the production methods used.

This is why Cataldo Aprea, brimming with new and groundbreaking ideas, decided to continue alone and opened the Apreamare shipyard in 1983.
1988 marks an important turning point: with Salvatore Pollio, a builder who recognized the potential and creativity of the sector, he founded Apreamare Srl.
In 2001, Apreamare joined the Ferretti Group. The fruitful collaboration with one of the leading companies in the marine industry allows the company to grow and succeed in new and important markets.

After nine years of successful cooperation with the Ferretti Group, on March 24, 2010, the Aprea and Pollio families regained direct control of Apreamare and incorporated it back into the family.
