Armstrong Marine Catamaran

General

New 2006 36' x 16' Armstrong Marine Charter Catamaran with Delta-Style house, walk around side decks, and interior seating for 12 persons and two crew.  Recently re-powered at Cook Engine in Portland, Oregon with with twin Volvo D-6 380 HP with DPI outdrives with 1000 hours and 2 years of remaining warranty.  American Explorer has an expired COI but has all of the necessary USCG requirements to be be an inspected vessel again like a collision bulkhead, stability letter for 39 passengers, upgraded electrical system, and a re-power in 2022 with next generation Volvo D6 diesel outdrive propulsion. She will need a new inspection in the new owners USCG zone.  She does not come with any safety gear other than what is necessary for a 6 passenger uninspected vessel. 

Accommodations

Interior seating for 12 plus two crew in the main cabin with (3) dinette tables. Sliding starboard side helm door and aft cabin door. Two sources of cabin heat with a Red Dot bus heater off the engines and an Espar diesel forced air furnace.

On Deck

Tons of deck space with large aft cockpit and walk-around side decks. Exterior head access through the sliding port side door. Hydraulic drum windlass on the foredeck spooled with line and chain.

Engine and Mechanical

RECENT RE-POWER AND REFIT at Cook Engine in Portland, Oregon. Re-Powered in 2022 with twin Volvo D6-380 HP diesels with DPI out drives with 1,000 hours and two remaining years of warranty These engines are the next generation Volvo diesels with a 200 hour recommended lower unit gear lube change interval and a new filter in the outdrive and gear lube circulation pump. Dual station Volvo EVC controls with joystick steering at the forward helm and aft station with DPS, autopilot, and virtual anchor features. She carries 500 gallons of diesel in two 250 gallon tanks. Comfortable cruise speed is 24 knots burning 20 GPH.

Electrical and Electronics

Two new 16" Garmin MFD's at the forward helm and a 12" Garmin MFD at the aft station which display chart plotter, sounder, and radar data from the Garmin 4' XHD open array. 2800 Watt Magnum energy inverter with a (2) 6V golf card battery bank and (2) 4D start batteries one for each engine. New Blue Seas 360 panel installed during the refit with upgraded marine wiring including a Blue Seas battery charger with 3 bank charger summary panel.
