Description
Sea Ray marketed their first 220 Select Bow Rider in 1994 and 1995.
However, this first-generation model was often referred to as 220 Signature Select or just 220 Signature, which distinguishes her from the successor.
After 8 years of hiatus, the 220 returned with an entirely new hull, a much more modern top deck, and a plethora of innovative features.
The all-new 220 Select was built on a 21-degree deep-V hull measured in at an overall length of 23 feet with a trailerable beam of 8.5 feet.
Her claimed dry weight was 3,850 pounds, which increased to an estimated gross trailering weight of 5,500-6,000 pounds on a tandem axle trailer and liquids.
(Interestingly, the predecessor 220 Signature was 7 inches shorter and her beam was 4 inches smaller, yet she was 150 pounds heavier.)

Rated at 10 persons or 1,600 pounds, the all-new top deck of the 220 Select offered great comfort and plenty of free deck space.
Offered with many different seating layouts, each of them sharing the same swivel bucket helm seat and bow lounge with full wraparound seating.
The port companion seat was available in two versions: a swivel bucket seat or a back-to-back lounger.
The most exciting part of the 220 Select was its unique asymmetrical aft architecture, shared with her smaller 20-footer sibling.
Located on the starboard side, the relatively small bench seat and sun pad extended two-thirds across the beam.
In the remaining space on the port side, you could find a deep bucket seat and an unpadded walk-thru transom passage.
This aft lounge could also be opted for a larger sun pad and bench seat featuring a full-beam design.
As a rule of thumb, each of these floorplans shared the same extended swim platform housing a retractable reboarding ladder and a vent.
Standard features of the boat included a grab rail/ski eye unit, an audio system with a remote, an insulated ice chest, an anchor locker, cup holders, grab handles, mooring cleats, and eyelets.
The premium feel is enhanced by carefully selected materials and amenities including premium snap-in carpets, wood grain inserts, padded side panels and armrests, and the luxurious helm.
Simple yet practical, the latter had a car-like dashboard housing four analog gauges with chrome bezels, speakers, a switch panel, a sun visor, a stereo remote, and more.
The deck also enjoyed many practical storage units including a floor ski locker, glove box, aft storage, and integrated side panel and seat storage.
