Description

This 86’ (26.21m) expedition-style motor yacht was built by Carey Shipyard in New Zealand in 2007 and designed by Richard McBride of McBride Design Ltd. With a full-displacement fiberglass and epoxy sheathed, 50mm Macrocarpa carvel hull, teak decks, and Naiad stabilizers, TASMAN was made to take on rough conditions without compromising comfort.

Carey Shipyard’s reputation for bespoke expedition yachts shines through in Tasman’s ocean-crossing capability, powered by twin Yanmar 330hp engines, offering a max speed of 14 knots and a cruising range of 2,400 nautical miles at 10 knots. Her shallow draft suits diverse destinations, though not specifically Bahamas-optimized.

BROKERS COMMENTS

TASMAN is a robust 26.21m luxury motor yacht built in 2007 by Carey Shipyard in New Zealand, designed for long-range cruising and tackling rough seas. Her composite, wooden cored hull and superstructure, paired with teak decks, reflect a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern durability, boasting a gross tonnage of 87 tons.

TASMAN's maiden voyage was a 2100nm sail from Auckland to Tahiti. Cruising extensively around the Pacific, Australia and down to Tasmania. TASMAN was then shipped to Florida where she based herself to explore the Caribbean and East Coast of the USA, both inland waterway and offshore.

TASMAN has been successfully exploring the Mediterranean over the past 5 years and the next big plan is to head towards Northern Europe and Scandinavia.
