The 2014 VanDutch 40, a masterpiece of minimalist design by Frank Mulder, is a 40-foot luxury dayboat known for its sleek, straight-edge silhouette and performance. The vessel's hull is constructed using vacuum-injection techniques, resulting in a light and stiff composite structure that ensures smooth, stable navigation even in demanding conditions. The model is powered by a pair of Yanmar 6LY3-ETP diesel engines, each delivering 480 horsepower through conventional shaft drives. This setup provides impressive performance, with a comfortable cruising speed of approximately 32 knots and a top speed reaching up to 39 knots. The engines are noted for their power and the boat's excellent maneuverability, aided by standard-issue bow and stern thrusters. Above deck, the VD40 offers an expansive, party-friendly cockpit and large aft sunbed, with seating finished in durable Silvertex upholstery. The deck features maintenance-free Esthec composite decking, pop-up cleats, and flush hatches, maintaining a clean, uninterrupted aesthetic. Below deck, the cabin is inviting and practical, featuring a U-shaped seating area with a hydraulic table that converts into a spacious queen-size berth, accommodating up to eight people for dining. Amenities include air conditioning, a refrigerator, microwave, and a well-equipped head with hot and cold water, making it suitable for overnight cruising.
