Description
Houten Boeier ready to sail well maintained
One of the last sailing authentic wooden boeiers, built in 1908 and well maintained. Almost completely restored since 2010.
A robust ship, heavily built from 9,000 kg of oak, rigged and simply executed. The sturdy appearance of this boeier comes from its relatively large width, relatively high bow and stern.
Seven continuous skin channels come together in a substantial beautiful sheer.
The mooring is a shiphouse in Sneek, floating in the water, out of the sun.
Due to the counterweight and the hatches, the mast can easily be lowered by one person, allowing passage under bridges of only 200 cm.
The cozy cabin gives a dollhouse feeling and offers no standing height. Cooking while sitting, sleeping comfortably, and literally crawling out of bed in the morning.
An ideal ship for trips, drying out on the mudflats, or simply spending a day or weekend.
Significantly restored and renewed since 2010, including: deck beams, deck, side decks, mast tube, locker boards, side decks, starboard bulwark, water tank, port deck and bulwark, repair channels, tarpaulin, Garmin plotter, new jib, anchor, batteries.
A comprehensive digital archive is available, including photo material, invoices, etc.
Additionally, (historical) documentation is available.
Registered in the studbook under category A plaque number 45 and register of sailing heritage Netherlands under number 1384.
Extensively described in the book by Vermeer. For more information and to make an appointment for a viewing: 0031-6-10359729.
