This iconic 39'10" wooden sailboat, hull number 10 of 103 produced, embodies the legendary Concordia design renowned for its sea-kindly motion and effortless speed. Meticulously maintained by her current owner for 30 years, PRAXILLA offers a perfect blend of classic charm and modern upgrades, including a 2012 Yanmar engine, updated electronics, new Concordia rudder, Dynel-covered house top, and a new dodger for 2025. PRAXILLA has been sanded, painted, and varnished every year, and the deadwood was replaced in 2017 and two new planks were replaced in 2021. With her rich history and impeccable condition, PRAXILLA presents a rare opportunity to own a piece of sailing heritage.

Construction

The Concordia Yawl's construction exemplifies traditional wooden boatbuilding techniques, combining durability with aesthetic appeal. The use of high-quality materials like African mahogany, white oak, and bronze fastenings contributes to the yacht's longevity, with many examples still sailing today.

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • Steam bent laminated oak frames with African mahogany planking (new Deadwood installed in 2017 and 2 new planks added in 2021 at the waterline and just below the waterline).
  • Bronze plank fastenings.
  • Bright mahogany deck trim.
  • Canvas covered main deck.
  • Dynel (fiberglass) covered house top (2020) – Dynel is lower maintenance than the original canvas and adds stiffness.
  • Hull sanded and painted every year.
  • Varnish done every year.

 

Keel & Rudder:

  • Iron keel with galvanized iron keel bolts.
  • New rudder installed in 2017.
