Description
Glory Days is a mono hull auxiliary sailing yacht, USCG certified small passengers vessel to carry 42 passengers on bays, lakes and sounds and 20 passengers for limited coast wise route 20 miles from safe harbor. The boat requires one master and one deck hand for charters.
The Morgan Out Island 51 was designed by Jack Cory and Charlie Morgan as a comfortable blue water cruiser. The yacht is 51.5 overall in length, 43 at the water line, 15 foot beam and 36 gross tons with large water and fuel tank capacity. Equipped with a 115 HP John Deere diesel for auxiliary power and the large 3 bladed prop makes maneuvering easy. The stay sail ketch rig complete with four sails make sailing simple when single handing and allows different sailing configurations. The full keel to 5.5 feet with adjustable centerboard that lowers to 11 feet makes it perfect to enter shallow waters when the center board is up and provide stability as well as extra ballast while under sail in heavy conditions with it down to lowest position.
The boat features a high freeboard, large walk around deck with huge center cockpit which keeps passengers and crew dry and comfortable while sails can be handled from the helm.
Below deck Glory Days has a beautiful teak interior with teak and holly sole throughout. The generous sized saloon, galley and navigation stations feature ample headroom at 6'10". Comfortable seating with a large settee as well as a wrap around the teak dining table. There are two cabins forward with two bunks in each and storage lockers, one with a fold down desk. The pass though leads to the berth wide stateroom featuring a queen size bunk, plenty of drawers and two storage lockers as well as a private head with bathtub. All cabin lights are both12 volt or 110 run by shore power or the 12 KW generator.
Morgan Out Island yachts retain their value as a result of superior building and solid reputation. This boat is well maintained and has been in successful charter service since 1995 in FL and since 1999 on the San Francisco Bay.
