Description
Salty Dog, Gulfstar 47 Sailmaster hull #75, is a ketch rigged, raised salon, center cockpit motorsailer. She offers the comfort and range of a trawer with the exhileration of sail. Her raised salon center cockpit with bimini and full enclosure provides excellent visibility and a dry ride.
With her traditional teak interior and large raised salon windows, the main salon exhibits a warm yet light and airy feel. You'll especially enjoy her Queen size aft berth with memory foam mattress, two standup shower stalls, apartment size refrigerator/freezer in the galley, large closets, numerous drawers, and abundant storage. Her generous tankage including 195 gal of fuel, 360 gal of water, and 40 gal holding, along with her reliable naturally aspirated engine, diesel generator, bow thruster, solar panels, water maker and suite of contemporary B&G electronics, make her a joy to cruise.
We have cruised her from the Chesapeake Bay to South Florida and many times to the Bahamas during our 20 years of ownership. The previous owner sailed her to Trinidad and back. We have self-performed most maintenance and upgrades (all maintenance up to date) and just completed her bi-annual haulout with work activities including bottom paint, buff and wax topsides, thruster maintenance, and a new prop and line cutter. We have extensive mainenance and upgrade records with most items either upgraded or replaced during our ownership. We offer to pass along our knowledge and experience to the Buyer in the form of several days of hands on orientation and training on the boat's features, systems, and operation, as well as reasonable on-going virtual support as desired.
