2012 - 2014 IMPROVEMENTS:

HULL REPAIRS:

  • 2014 Keel Repair: The keel was cleaned and inspected. A “patch” was found at the base of the keel that was admitting water. The base of the keel was removed and rebuilt with closed cell foam. Material was applied in staggered steps so no two joints fall in the same place, adding two layers of material to each lift. From the bottom to the top each layer was built up a bit larger than the one under it. The end result is 14 layers on the very bottom, tapering to two layers at the top with all joints staggered by 2"at least. The bottom is around 1" thick solid over the foam. The yard used vinylester resin which is more resistant to water absorption than polyester.
  • 2014 Hull Inspection and Repairs: A thorough assessment of the hull revealed some blistering. The hull was planed, the blisters dried out and the voids were filled. The hull and keel were faired with 3M fairing compound, and were painted with Interprotect.
  • 2012 Replaced through hulls including sea cocks.

DECK & EXTERIOR:

  • 2014 The sail track was removed and rebedded, both port and starboard sides.
  • 201 Repainting: The old instruments were removed from the bulkhead, the holes filled, and recut to accept the new instruments. The bulkhead was repainted to match the rest of the deck
  • 2014 Rigging Repairs: Both standing and running rigging were inspected and replaced where necessary, ensuring safe operation during sailing.
  • The canvas for the bimini and dodger were replaced. The sail cover was replaced with the same material as the bimini and dodger.
