Brokers Notes
The Golden Wave 48 was crafted for offshore cruising, solid fiberglass hull, Skeg hung rudder, fin keel config. She offers a balance between performance and comfort while at sea. Its moderate displacement of nearly 33,000 lbs and substantial sail area (approx 1,240') contribute to commendable sailing capabilities, while the skeg-hung rudder enhances directional stability. The fiberglass construction ensures durability, and the spacious beam provides ample interior volume for extended voyages.
Cheoy Lee’s reputation for solid fiberglass hulls is evident in the Golden Wave 48. While some earlier models from the shipyard faced criticism for hardware quality, the Golden Wave series and her designer, Britton Chance, a navy architect, American designer know for boats with good performance and sea worthiness. The Golden Wave incorporated higher-quality fittings and materials, often sourced from reputable English, American, or French manufacturers. When you step aboard, you can immediately tell that these boats were built with heavy seas in mind.
The Golden Wave 48 is a rare find on the used boat market, with a limited number built. Owners often hold onto them due to their robust construction and favorable sailing characteristics.
Ths is a great boat.
