The J-30 adds the comfort of a decent cruising interior for those overnight races or a weekend cruises to the islands. Second Chances, brings the opportunity to get into a serious racer/cruiser at the price of a sailing dinghy. It has an inboard Yanmar diesel for power and a sail inventory to rivel any, including 3 mainsails, a 100% blade, 2 genoa, and a spinnaker with appropriate hardware and running rigging.
The useless centerline dinette has already been removed, giving the salon room enough to run the tapes on the spinnaker during your up wind legs. And, with only a little elbow grease this interior could be made to look exceptional. I has been designed to accommodate a crew of 6 for overnight passages. The J-30 is really an exceptional design and choice.
