The boat is equipped with an aluminum mast and a complete sail plan, including a mainsail, jib, genoa, and storm jib. In total, there are six sails, including two mainsails and two jibs, some of which have been recently renewed and treated.The Yanmar 2GM20 diesel engine with 18 hp provides sufficient power for harbor maneuvers and motoring in calm conditions. In 2024, the engine was thoroughly inspected, and various parts were replaced, including the impeller, thermostat, zinc anodes, fuel filter, starter motor, cylinder pistons, cylinder liners, and cylinder head gasket. The cooling system and diesel tank were also cleaned. These technical updates contribute to the efficient operation of the propulsion system.Interior and Onboard ComfortInside, the Dufour 1800 offers surprisingly ample space for a ship of this size. The headroom is 1.72 meters, but due to the large opening of the companionway, it feels very spacious. There are five fixed berths, divided between the cabin and the forepeak, making the ship suitable for short trips with family or friends. The upholstery and cushions have been recently renewed with water-repellent fabrics, enhancing the comfort and appearance of the interior.The boat features a seawater toilet with direct discharge overboard and a removable water tank. The electrical installation was partially renewed in 2024/2025, including new wiring, a renewed switch panel, main switch, fuses, and a solar fan for extra ventilation. Two 12V batteries power the onboard equipment.Equipment and Deck GearOn deck, the Dufour 1800 is equipped with a manual anchor winch with chain, a sprayhood for cockpit shelter, and pulpit and pushpit for extra safety. The anti-slip surface gives the ship a classic look and provides good grip in wet weather. The deck and hatches have been recently sanded, filled, and finished with a two-component paint, ensuring a fresh and well-maintained appearance. The cockpit area was also re-varnished in the winter of 2024/2025. The wooden superstructures have been repainted, giving the whole a well-maintained and timeless look.Navigation and Sailing EquipmentThe navigation equipment on board includes a depth sounder, compass, and autopilot. A chart plotter is present but currently not connected. The boat is equipped with a tiller extension and a recently varnished tiller. The halyards and lines, including the main halyard, jib halyard, and boom vang, were renewed in 2024.
