Description
This is an absolute must see 1982.. well kept, lightly used Tartan! Nominal 37 ft. overall, masthead sloop rigged, contemporary styled cruising sailboat.
designed by Sparkman and Stephens and built by Tartan Yachts in Painesville, Ohio in 1982. It is hull number 364 of the design.
Vessel is traditionally and conservatively rigged with a keel stepped aluminum mast with single spreaders, roller furled headsail and aluminum boom with mid-boom sheeting.
Below the waterline the vessel has a shoal draft fin keel with centerboard and a skeg mounted, partially balanced rudder.
The cockpit features pedestal steering with folding table, teak grates on seats and sole, and a canvas dodger. Vessel has a reverse style stern with a boarding ladder. There is extensive use of teak on deck.
The interior has a traditional layout with galley to starboard of the companionway, and quarter-berth and navigation station to port. The main saloon has settees port and starboard with a folding table between. The port settee is convertible and the starboard settee has a pilot berth outboard. The head compartment is forward of the saloon on the port side, and is large enough for a shower. The fore cabin has a double berth and lockers.
The cabin sole is traditional teak and holly laminate. Bulkheads are teak plywood and the cabinetry and trim are solid teak and teak plywood. There is extensive use of teak throughout.
The vessel is equipped with a 4 cylinder diesel auxiliary with shaft drive. Engine access is via a removable panel behind the companionway ladder.
Above the waterline, she has a balsa cored FRP hull with athwart-ships structural timbers, and a balsa cored FRP deck of generous scantlings. Below the waterline, the hull and keelson are solid FRP laminate. Ballast is exterior lead. The bulkheads and much of the furniture are tabbed directly to the hull. The workmanship and hardware are of excellent quality.

There is a very good survey that can be shared with serious buyer from October 2022. The boat has been stored since the survey due to owner moving out of town. Boat has been safely stored and is in excellent condition.
