1983 Cruise Ready Whitby 42' Double Head Sail Ketch
This Stunning 42' Ketch Rigged Cutter has been loved for 19 years by her current owners. She has travelled the ICW down from Lake Champlain, cruised the Bahamas, Mexico and Florida.
She has continued to be upgraded and maintained throughout her cruising life. Recent equipment additions include Rocna 25 Anchor, 200ft G43 high test chain, Victron LiOn house battery system, Simrad NSS12 Chartplotter w/CMaps, Simrad Halo 20+ Radar.
She sports a hydraulic dinghy lift, capable of lifting crew and provisions out of the water to deck level.
Anyone looking to travel the world or simply live the Island dream should come and visit her where she currently resides in Charlotte Harbor, Placida Florida.
Ted Brewer designed the Whitby 42 in 1971 for Whitby Boat Works in Canada. She has a 13-foot beam, 32-foot 8-inch waterline, and a moderate 5-foot draft. High freeboard allows a commodious interior, which in one of the two available cabin layouts boasts two swiveling armchairs, a spacious engine room, and a very comfortable aft cabin. Ample water tankage of 290 gallons provides for showers in two heads, and a 150-gallon fuel capacity assures good range under power. A cavernous refrigerator/freezer keeps perishables during an extended cruise, a locker for wet oilskins abuts the main companionway ladder, and a handy workbench sits in the passage aft by the engine room.
