Leisure 23 SL – Sailboat with Trailer, Year of Construction 1986The Leisure 23 SL is a polyester sailing yacht measuring 6.90 meters in length and 2.40 meters in width, built in 1986 by Leisure Yachts / Cobramold Ltd. in the United Kingdom. The design is by Frank Pryor and is characterized by a round-bilge hull and tiller steering. This model is suitable for inland waters and lakes and is designed with stability and ease of use in mind, even in stronger wind conditions.Dimensions and ConstructionWith a draft of 1.20 meters and an air draft of 10.5 meters (including antenna), the Leisure 23 SL is suitable for various sailing areas. The cabin headroom is 1.76 meters. The hull is made of polyester, and the deck features synthetic teak in the cockpit area. The boat has a self-draining cockpit and a guardrail for extra safety on deck.Interior and AccommodationInside, the Leisure 23 SL offers sleeping space for up to five people: three fixed berths, including an owner's cabin in the bow and a quarter berth under the cockpit area, and one to two additional berths by converting the seating area with a table. The boat is equipped with a compressor refrigerator, a combi-oven with microwave function, and diesel air heating. There is a 20-liter water tank and a 10-liter waste water tank. A chemical toilet (Porta Potti) is included.Sailing EquipmentThe Leisure 23 SL features an aluminum mast with a sail plan consisting of four sails: a jib, a blister (drifter), and two mainsails. One of the mainsails is equipped with three reefing lines and can be used as a storm sail. The foresail is equipped with a furling system, while the mainsail has a Bentzel reefing system. The sails are in functional condition and suitable for various wind conditions.Navigation and ElectronicsThe boat is equipped with various navigation instruments, including a Simrad TP-10 autopilot (tiller pilot), a Garmin GPS handheld device, a Seafarer depth sounder, and a VHF radio. The log/speedometer is defective. The electrical system consists of two batteries with a total capacity of 160 Ah, a battery charger, a solar panel, a wind generator, and an inverter. The onboard voltage is 12V and 220V.Engine and PropulsionThe Leisure 23 SL is equipped with a Volvo Penta 2001 B inboard diesel engine with a power of 10 hp. The engine has one cylinder and is electrically started. The engine was replaced in 1995 after frost damage and has since approximately 760 operating hours. In 2023, the exhaust hose, thermostat, and swan neck were renewed. The fuel tank has a capacity of 22 liters, and consumption is around 1.2 liters per hour. The cruising speed is approximately 7 km/h, with a maximum speed of 10 km/h.TrailerThe boat comes with a road trailer from the brand Masannek Bielefeld, year of construction 1984. It is a braked, non-tilting boat trailer with two axles and a load capacity of 2,200 kg. The trailer is galvanized and suitable for keelboats. The dimensions are 775 x 240 cm, and the trailer is equipped with a license plate (GE - ZH 1154). The tire size is 14 inches, and there are four rollers. A new hitch mechanism was installed in 2024. Extensive documentation is available from both the manufacturer and all installed components.User Experience and HistoryThe Leisure 23 SL has been in family ownership since 1989 and has mainly been used on the Veluwemeer, Ketelmeer, and IJsselmeer during that time. The boat has been stored ashore annually for winter storage. In 2017/2018, the windows were reattached, and the teak in the cockpit was replaced with synthetic teak. In 2021, the deck was repainted with two-component paint.
