Construction

RCD Status: Our understanding is that the yacht is exempt from the essential safety requirements of the Recreational Craft Directive as she was built and placed into use within the EU prior to 1998.  

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

• Hull topsides painted (dark blue) in Finland 2007/8, (she was previously white, but pale blue as original and as featured in Nautor Swan 61 brochure!) still in good shape after care and maintenance.
• Hull built of glass fibre reinforced polyester by hand laying-up method, using alternate layers of mat and roving. Stiffeners are laid up over foam cores and reinforced with unidirectional glass.
• Structural bulkheads are of marine grade waterproof plywood laminated to hull and deck. Engine beds are of GRP with steel inserts. Special care is taken to assure rigid foundation and proper adhesion to hull.
• The mast is stepped through the deck onto a metal mast step with movable shoe for mast rake adjustment. Tie rods at main mast. Laminated reinforcements on the main bulkhead for the stainless-steel chain plates.
• Deck is made in foam-cored GRP sandwich construction. Single laminate with aluminium back-up plates under deck fittings.
• Teak deck and cockpit. New teak, 14mm – 2020/21.
• Teak toerail installed at the same time as the new teak deck.
• Teak hatch frames and handrails, sheet and halyard cleats. 
• Anodized aluminium toe rail with one pair of hawse holes amidships and drain holes where necessary.
• Pulpit, pushpit and lifeline stanchions of stainless-steel, with bases bolted through deck.
• Stem head fitting of stainless-steel with double chain roller and headsail tack attachment.
• Standard transom (giving LOA of 18.44m).

 

Keel & Rudder:

• Ballast keel is lead casting with antimony.
• Cast-in keel bolts are of high-tensile stainless steel.
• Spade rudder of foam filled GRP with stainless-steel stock, supported by two roller bearings.
• Shallow draft Scheel keel 2.4m (instead of 3.1m).
• New rudder blade and rudder bearing – 2017.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

• New Yanmar 4LHA-DTP, 200hp engine – 2017.
• ZF gearbox, new 2017.
• New steel structure supporting engine and generator – 2017.
• New ventilation system of engine room – 2017.
• New pipes and exhaust of engine – 2017.
• Prop shaft and bearings new 2017.
• Sound-insulation of engine room.
• Racor filters for engine and generator.

 

Maintenance & Performance:

• Cruising speed 8 knots @ 2000rpm.
• Maximum speed 9 knots @ 2500rpm.
• Continuous service in current ownership.
• Engine has approx. 2,273 hours.

 

Propulsion & Steering:

• MaxProp 4-blade propeller – new 2014/15.
• Bow thruster Maxpower 20 k with hydraulic system pump powered (PTO on engine).
• Propeller serviced 2022.
• Elk hide covered stainless steel steering wheel.

 

Other Mechanical Equipment:

• The Danfoss hydraulic system includes a PTO and an electric pump to support the PTO.
• The hydraulic system operates windlass, winches and bow thruster.

Electrical Systems

Voltage Systems:

• DC 24v ; AC 230v.
• Sea inlet valves 2023.
• 115v sockets throughout.

 

Battery Banks:

• Service batteries, AGM 2v units (12 batteries), 3 sets of 4, by Mastervolt – new 2021.
• Engine and gen set start batteries.

 

Battery Chargers:

• Mastervolt battery charging & regulation system incl. inverter, with readout & control panel at navigation station.

 

Alternators:

• Alternators 150amp 24v unit, for service – 2023.

 

Generator:

• Onan 9kw generator – new 2011, overhauled in 2017.
• Serviced every year.
• Soundproof case.
• All pipes and exhaust of generator new – 2017.
• Approx. 1,561 hours.

 

Other Electrical:

• New antennas on top of mast – 2022.

Plumbing Systems

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

• 2 x stainless steel 220v water heater and/or engine calorifier.
• New freshwater system with new pipes and new autoclaves to all heads and galley.

 

Watermaker:

• Idromar Junior 220l/h – new in 2013.
• Overhauled September 2023.
• The watermaker pipes have been replaced.
• Approx. 510 hours.

 

Bilge Pumps:

• 3 x electric bilge pumps.
• 2 x manual bilge pumps.
• Holding tank pump.
• Chain box pump.
• 3 x sump tank pumps.

 

Other Plumbing Systems:

• Bronze seacocks and new pipes – 2023.
• Seawater faucet at galley.

Tankage

Fuel:

• 1,100 litres fuel in 4 x tanks.

 

Fresh Water:

• 1,060 litres in 5 x tanks.

 

Grey/Blackwater Holding Tanks:

• 2 x blackwater tanks (one aft and one forward), with new pumps and drainage pipes – 2023.
• New drains for greywater.

Navigation Equipment

Raymarine multifunction system incorporating:

• Raymarine plotter E90 in chart table.
• Raymarine plotter E120.
• Renewed Raymarine autopilot system – 2017.
• AIS B system Raymarine – 2013.
• Raymarine radar – 2013.
• EPIRB.
• VHF RAY128E.

Domestic Equipment

Galley:

• New fridge system with two big fridges and one freezer, three compressors – 2016.
• New wiring system connecting all metal parts of the boat with earthing on the shanks.
• Professional Jemi GS-6 AF dishwasher.
• Taylor gas cooker with 4 burners, electric hot plate, grill and oven.

 

Heads/Showers:

• Deck shower aft, hot and cold.
• Electric marine toilets, salt water flushing.

 

Heating & Ventilation:

• Climma Marine air conditioning operating 3 units (owner’s cabin, saloon and forward). Installed in current ownership in first refit in Finland, 2008, and always serviced and maintained. Operates in reverse cycle for heating.

 

Entertainment:

• Sony hi-fi system & 5-way speaker control in saloon.
• Stereo speakers in owner´s cabin and cockpit.

 

Lighting:

• Recessed deckhead lights, wall lights.

Accommodation

Summary of Accommodation:

• 8 berths in 4 cabins.
• All berths have fitted lee-cloths. 
• All hatches (except forehatch) have deadlight & mosquito blinds.
• New headlining – 2021.
• Interior varnish redone at various times during current ownership.
• Cabin floors in saloon were sanded and varnished in 2024.
• Interior upholstery (and exterior cockpit cushions) renewed in 2018-19.

 

Description of layout from forwards:   Foc’s’le:

• Accessed either through the port guest cabin or the forehatch. 
• Fitted out as a crew cabin with single berths either side & sail storage under.

 

Starboard Guest Cabin:

• Double berth.
• Added stowage outboard.
• Ample hanging space with lockers on centreline.
• Ensuite head and shower, with Jabsco quiet flush electric toilet.

 

Port Guest Cabin:

• Upper and lower berths. 
• The upper berth can be folded away and the lower extended to form a double bed. 
• Chart locker. 
• Head (Lavac electric and manual WC) and shower area shared with the fo’c’sle.

 

Main Saloon:

• U-shaped seating area to starboard, removable settee on centreline and large dining table (foldable-extendable for double space).
• Small coffee table to port with L-shaped seating area. 
• Entertainment centre on the port side includes Sony hi-fi system & 5-way speaker control. 
• Large drinks cabinet with crystal glasses.
• 230v sockets.
• Saloon seating upholstered in dark blue cotton. 
• Both the settees may be used as sea berths and are equipped with lee cloths.

Deck Equipment

Rig:

• Sloop/cutter rig. Mast is stepped on keel and has triple spreaders.
• Nautor spars in aluminium. 
• Fully battened mainsail system.
• Reckmann R4 manual furling headstay for genoa.
• Mast was out of the yacht in 2021.
• Spars were completely revised, checked and mast/spreaders/boom were repainted - white Awlgrip – 2021.
• New s/s rod rigging – 2021.
• Renewal of all blocks throughout the rig – 2020/21.
• Overhauled Harken mainsail track and new ball/cars – 2017.
• Runners in Dyneema – 2021.
