Sabre 42 CB

The Sabre 42 is a very popular cruising sailboat with wonderful features for the couple or family and can sleep up to 7 people who wish to spend weekends or longer cruising inshore or offshore. The sailing characteristics and accommodations make for great cruising. The shallow draft is great for the islands or Bays or anywhere a shoal draft is needed. With her Centerboard extended, her draft become 8'6''  

“La Teh Da” is a 1987 Sabre 42 keel/Centerboard model. The Centerboard is highly desirable option expanding the sailing performance while not limiting her harbor access. “Roger Hewson, the Sabre 42’s designer, clearly had a broader focus than pure performance when drawing her lines: He intended her to be comfortable and safe in open ocean.” – Rich Hoyer, Rover’s Blog. The overall original condition of La The Da is considered good.  She is suitably powered with a regularly serviced, Westerbeke 46HP that runs well.  La Teh Da,  can be enjoyed day sailing, in local & distance cruising or sailed in skinny waters, ( Chesapeake, Florida, Bahamas, etc. ) with board up draft of 4’10’’, She is easily handled by 2 people with her Mac Pack mainsail system and Harken roller furling jib.

 

 

Accommodations

She sleeps 7. The master cabin forward cabin sleeps 2 in the V berth and has a guest head with shower adjacent and to port with a large hanging locker opposite to starboard. The salon can sleep 3 on the traditional settee to starboard and a convertible dinette/double berth opposite to port. Down the ladder to port is the galley with the aft facing nav. station opposite. Aft to port is a large double berth cabin with its own door to the aft head. The second head is aft to starboard. Nicely finished with oiled teak throughout and teak & holly soles. very well ventilated with 12 opening ports, 9 hatches and 4 dorade vents.

Galley

The galley is mid-ship to port with a double S/S sink w/ hot and cold pressure water and manual cold water using a Whale foot pump, freezer/refrigerator, 3 burner gas stove and oven, and plenty of cabinets and drawers for storage. Ample counter space.
