Description
CARA LYNN is a well equipped Alden 46 from one of New England’s best known semi custom builders. She is a proven, sea kindly performance cruising yacht with a classic profile, aft cockpit, and an exceptionally warm satin varnished teak interior.
A major advantage aboard CARA LYNN is her shoal draft keel and hydraulically operated centerboard, opening up cruising grounds and anchorages that deeper fin keel designs simply cannot access.
The current (second) owners have continued to invest in meaningful upgrades, including a substantial 2014/2015 refit period reportedly totaling approximately $60,000. Highlights include an Awlgrip hull finish, bow thruster, serviced rig and mast, refinished bottom and keel, new heads (one electric), and updated holding tank and plumbing.
Accommodations are ideal for comfortable cruising, with a forward owner’s suite and ensuite head with separate shower, plus an aft guest cabin that converts to a queen, and an additional day/guest head conveniently located near the companionway.

Aft to port is a spacious U shaped galley with excellent counter space and storage, including an island style inboard counter with access doors to the main engine compartment below. Aft of the galley is a proper navigation station with bench seat and chart table. To starboard is the aft head and shower, and the aft guest cabin with two single berths that convert to a queen.
Interior finish is satin varnished teak with high gloss trim. Cabin soles are varnished solid teak with light rock maple inlays. Headliners and much of the interior hardware have been replaced.
