Description
Wauquiez - Centurion 47
The Centurion 47: powerful, graceful, and rare. This exceptional sailing yacht, produced in only 48 units between 1984 and 1990, embodies elegance and performance. Designed by the legendary Ed Dubois, it played a memorable role in a film by Claude Lelouch featuring Jean Paul Belmondo, sailed by marine experts.
Its aesthetics combine functionality and beauty, offering unparalleled comfort with three independent cabins and two equipped bathrooms. With its high-quality construction, the Centurion 47 is much more than a boat: it is an unforgettable sailing experience for sailing enthusiasts.
Built from 1984 to 1990 in 48 units, this Centurion is a powerful yet physical boat.
The Centurion 47 was used in Claude Lelouch's film, "Itinerary of a Spoiled Child" with Jean Paul Belmondo. During filming, the boat was skippered by Michel Malinosky as well as Henri Wauquiez and Véronique Wauquiez. The shots with the boat took place in the bay of St Tropez. The interior shots of the boat were taken at the dock. To give the impression of being at sea in rough weather, Michel Malinosky, Henri Wauquiez, and Véronique Wauquiez moved the boat from side to side. Jean Paul Belmondo, on the other hand, just had to hold on inside!
The Centurion 47 is an exceptional boat! Designed by Ed Dubois, renowned for his ultra-fast hulls.
This pure sailing yacht of very high class is a development of the famous Victory, one of the best admiral yachts ever produced. The hull, deck plan, and rigging are designed for performance.
The aesthetics of this Centurion is an undeniable success. The design of the deck plan is remarkable for its clarity and simplicity; the roof blends into the deck, freeing up very wide side decks while the crew remains perfectly protected in a deep cockpit.
Comfortably seated behind the large steering wheel, with 14.30m of deck in front of you, you sail upwind at less than 30° of apparent wind, experiencing the thrill of speed. On a broad reach, you flirt with speeds of 12 to 15 knots, without ever feeling fear due to the perfect balance.
The comfort of the Centurion includes three independent cabins, two toilets each equipped with a shower. It also offers comfort at sea, with a stiff, powerful boat that moves smoothly and has exceptional softness at the helm.
The construction techniques, in all areas, demonstrate the mastery of quality that has built the reputation of the yard.
