Description

Lucayo is a stunning performance cruising yacht custom-built by the esteemed Brooklin Boat Yard of Maine. She was designed by Roger Martin for an experienced yachting family to be a fast, strong, long-range passage-maker.  The owners were able to fulfill this goal by cruising extensively in the North Atlantic from Newfoundland to Venezuela, the Azores, the Caribbean and many destinations along US East Coast. Lucayo is now back in Maine awaiting her next adventure.

Lucayo features a modern underwater configuration with a substantial fin/bulb keel and skeg-hung rudder. The generous sail plan is spread across twin headstays (with electric furling), staysail and full-battened main.  All lines and controls are led aft to the cockpit where there are electric primaries to assist.  All reefing and sail handling can be done from the safety of the cockpit and there is a bow thruster to help with docking. When the breeze dies down Lucayo can carry on under power with her Hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system, which offers extended range, reduced fuel consumption and a smaller carbon footprint.

Lucayo is a serious boat for serious sailors, and she is ready to take you far and wide.

Lucayo is a donated boat and available to purchase via a charter to term agreement.  Additional details are available upon request.
