The Catalina 400 was a design decades ahead of its time…
Introduced in 1994, this Gerry and Frank Douglass designed cruiser/racer was the first production yacht in its size range to feature twin helms, allowing cruising sailors to enjoy the safety, visibility, and easy cockpit circulation which has now become a ubiquitous feature on modern cruising yachts. The Catalina 400 is a high volume design with a spacious 2 cabin/2 head owner’s layout, featuring a huge light filled salon with an incredible 6’ 11” of head room, best in class galley, and an owners’ stateroom which spans the full beam of the aft cabin and boasts a true queen centerline berth. The Catalina 400 can be considered a modern classic, featuring timeless contemporary styling, modern innovation and rugged low maintenance construction which keeps this design looking as fresh as it did when Catalina Yachts first introduced the groundbreaking C400 back in 1994.
