Description
Designed by Robert K Johnson and built by the Hutchins Corporation. The Com-Pac 27 MKII is a shoal-draft cruiser that combines classic good looks with serious sailing capability. Com-Pac sailboats have a well-earned reputation for stability, seaworthiness, solid construction, quality components and exceptional workmanship. They were one of the most successful sailboat manufacturers of all time with production starting in 1970. The underwater design comprises of a shoal fin keel and a spade rudder offering easy handling in and out of marinas, along with a long waterline for it’s length and a round bottom that provides excellent motion comfort. She has a deck-stepped masthead rig. This is a great weekend boat with more room than you would expect in a 27-footer It has galley, an enclosed head and a stateroom with a comfortable V berth. She has 6.8’ of headroom. The main cabin has a deck hatch and opening ports for great cross ventilation. There are berths for 4 between the forepeak double & port & starboard settee berths with shelves behind and storage beneath. The forward cabin has a hanging locker to port and a set of drawers to starboard and opening ports & deck hatch. The galley is L-shaped on the port side & the private head with solid teak door is across on the starboard side. The head area is large with a mirror, opening port, sink & vanity and storage. The bi-fold table folds against the bulkhead when not needed and when down reveals storage shelves which are out of sight when the table is in the up position. Accommodations are very well thought out. Like most Com-Pac this one has lots of beautiful teak throughout including a teak & holly sole. The 18HP diesel inboard runs great and uses very little fuel. Storage lockers under the cockpit are deep and provide tons of storage space and easy access to the inboard and other components. It’s a fresh water boat. The owner is downsizing and doing more land traveling.
