Description
Introduction of the beautiful 1997 Contest 48, a remarkable cruiser that seamlessly combines elegance and performance. With a total length of 14.75 meters, this vessel features a robust fiberglass hull with a wing keel, providing stability and smooth sailing. Powered by a reliable 135 hp Perkins inboard diesel engine, the Isabella is equipped for adventure with 4034 hours of experience on the clock. Accommodating up to six guests, the interior offers three comfortable cabins, two toilets, and two shower stalls, perfect for longer journeys. The electric anchor winch enhances usability, making anchoring a breeze. The vessel's design is complemented by a refined 4-blade bronze Max Prop feathering propeller, ensuring efficient propulsion. Whether exploring coastal waters or embarking on a long journey, the Isabella promises an exceptional cruising experience, combining comfort, style, and seaworthiness in one impressive package. The ship is fully equipped and arranged so that everything can be operated from the cockpit, allowing for single-handed sailing. The well-lined fixed aluminum bimini provides good shelter.
This Contest 48 is characterized by a specially designed aluminum bimini.
The bimini provides the crew with a very sheltered spot at sea, and the view forward through the glass windows is optimal. The wipers are of great value when the weather gets rough. In rain, the bimini can be quickly closed with a back sail, often making it unnecessary to put on sailing clothes. This back sail creates a semi dockhouse where, in colder weather, the warmth is well retained.
This Contest is suitable for single-handed sailing. Everything can be operated from behind the steering wheel:
- sails can be set and reefed hydraulically, 3x Reckmann for mainsail, jib, and cutter, alongside the jib sheet
mainsheet, there are no extra lines in the cockpit.
- 4 electric winches
- bow thruster. (also bow thruster control at the bow and on the aft deck)
- control of electric anchor winch (also control at the anchor itself)
Condition of maintenance is optimal.
In addition to the normal annual maintenance, many years by MIJS later by Atlantic in Harlingen, many things have been additionally addressed over the years, e.g. :
- Jib new 2017, cutter and mainsail new 2022
- New ceiling with dimmable LED lighting, in the kitchen and saloon.
- New teak deck 2017
- Boom, hull, and superstructure painted 2017
- Rigging replaced 2017
- Major service 3x Reckmann 2017
- 4 blade maxprop propeller 2018
- Control system for the generator
